Fall 2023: “How can we design a community that meets the needs of the people who live in it?”

This semester students worked through a Project-Based Learning unit to answer “How can we design a community that meets the needs of the people who live in it?” We were so excited, not only for the final project, but the process! Students from seven sites in the Tulsa area participated in our Fall program to develop their literacy skills in afterschool programs. Students read, wrote, discussed, researched, planned, prepared, and made big decisions to determine what was important in their community! Students then presented their final projects at a showcase. We loved seeing how engaged students were in this unit and their takeaways. We learned so much from them and what they need in their communities. We can’t wait to see what next semester brings.
